This movie in general was a nice surprise from the same old supernatural types. It has an air of horror, mild drama, and a strong hint of Sci-fi. Julie Anne Moore is casted as Forensic Psychiatrist Cara Harding who is constantly being taunted by her also Forensic Psychiatrist father, played by Jeffrey DeMunn. Apparently Cara's father likes to have her interview his curernt cases with no preliminary details to see how she will react, not so much how her patient's behave. All is in good competitive fun until she is asked to interview his latest psycho by the name of David, played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers. David presents as a split personality disorder, classic in nature, until his personalities start to have memories from people that are actually dead.
Each time David transforms he becomes another person that has actually lived and died in reality. Cara begins to investigate the lives and deaths of David's altars, and makes a shocking discovery. The twist will mystify most horror and sci-fi fans and please the mass general audience. The movie further introduces you to Cara's family who slowly becomes entwined in the sadistic nature of her new endeavor and leads her to places of supernatural power. Be prepared for the unexpected with this movie. No matter how many times you feel you have figured it all out, once again you will realize you still don't have a clue.
The ending is dramatic and exciting, a real edge of your seat thriller. Jonathan Meyers really melds into his role as the Psycho, satanistic soul stealer in this flick. All of the characters are strongly believable, and use this film to show off their immense talent. Kudos to Julie Anne Moore for taking this "Well worth it" risk, it paid off for audiences everywhere. I would recommend this film to all people over the age of 16 who are looking for something to think about. Great flick Birdo!!!
